The Xiaomi 18 Pro Dual-Screen Edition has been officially confirmed for launch in India, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor.

At the ongoing India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, Xiaomi announced during the “Snapdragon Day” event that it would launch the Xiaomi 18 Pro in India. This flagship model will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, making it one of the first phones in India to feature this chip, alongside the iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27. The Xiaomi 18 Pro, which launched in China a few weeks ago, sports a 6.4-inch OLED display and dual 200-megapixel rear cameras.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Unveiled at IMC 2026
At IMC 2026—one of the world’s largest mobile technology events—Gautam Batra, Deputy Director of Product Marketing for Xiaomi India, officially confirmed the upcoming launch of the Xiaomi 18 Pro in India. While an exact release date has not yet been announced, the device is expected to hit the market in the coming months.

Compared to other upcoming smartphones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, the Xiaomi 18 Pro features a more compact body while delivering performance on par with the iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27. With its large 200MP main camera and a 200MP periscope lens supporting 3.2x optical zoom, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to stand out for its photography capabilities and film simulation effects (realized through its partnership with Leica).

Xiaomi 18 Pro Key Specifications
Based on the model released in China, this phone features a 6.4-inch flat LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 4,000 nits; it also includes a 2.7-inch rear LTPO AMOLED screen that shares the same 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness capabilities. Internally, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and offers configurations of 12GB or 16GB of RAM, along with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is equipped with a triple rear camera setup: a 200MP Light Fusion 960 main camera (1/1.28-inch sensor with OIS), a 200MP periscope telephoto camera (with OIS and 3.2x optical zoom), and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera. It also features a 50MP front-facing camera for selfies.

In China, the phone comes with a 7,000mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. Other specifications include Wi-Fi 7, UWB (Ultra-Wideband) connectivity, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, stereo speakers, a dedicated AI button, and IP68-rated water and dust resistance. On the software front, the Xiaomi 18 Pro runs HyperOS 4, based on Android 17. This system incorporates numerous design and AI optimizations aimed at enhancing the overall user experience.

Notably, Xiaomi has also adopted “Super Pixel Display 2.0” privacy screen technology—a hardware-based solution that utilizes dedicated privacy pixels and physical barriers to restrict viewing angles. Samsung debuted this technology on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and Huawei has also implemented hardware-based privacy screen technology on the Mate XT 2.

In India, the starting price for the Xiaomi 17 has already reached ₹89,999; given the rising cost of components for flagship models, the Xiaomi 18 Pro could potentially exceed ₹100,000. Prospective buyers of this top-tier Xiaomi device will need to weigh whether features like the rear display and dual 200-megapixel cameras justify the price tag. Alternatively, one might consider waiting for the launch of the iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27 to compare prices before making a decision.
